From coast to coast, this country offers endless opportunities for fun and excitement.  There is so much to see and do, and a motor home can be the best way to take it all in at your own pace, without giving up the comforts of home.

A Motor home is commonly identified as a self-propelled vehicle with an attached chassis.  It can easily occupy two to seven people in comfort, making it the perfect choice for family road trips.

Despite the size and versatility, what really makes a motor home a true “home away from home” is the long list of on-board amenities.  Well-equipped motor homes come complete with a bedroom, bathroom, kitchen and dining facilities.  Families can comfortably ride in the living area, which is also accessible to the driver’s cabin.  Most motor homes also feature water, electricity and propane hookups with heating and air conditioning also available.

There are different types and styles of motor homes.  The following outline describes the most common types, each unique in terms of size, facilities, appearance and physical assembly:

Coach-built Motor Vehicles

This type of motor home is identified as a van cab with an extended chassis, and coach-built living area.  Though it will differ according to size, the coach is usually built wider than a typical van.  This wider caravan body allows users to incorporate most of their needs into a fairly small living area.  The coach-built motor vehicle is known as a C-Class in the United Kingdom, and is sometimes called a motor caravan.

Class A Motor Home

One of the most well-known and commonly used motor homes in the world, the Class A usually comes in medium and large sizes and is completely coach built.  Perhaps what sets this type apart from the others is that nothing of the original van bodywork or cab exterior remains. Many motor home enthusiasts hail the Class A as the best design option, because it is able to accommodate nearly everything that the travelers could need while on the road. The downside to this type of motor home is the price tag; it is the one of the more expensive options.

High-Top Motor Vehicle

Often referred to as a “camper” or “camper van”, the high-top motor home is really nothing more than a delivery van or a panel van conversion with a unique raised roof.  It has a wheelbase typical of a van chassis, which strongly impacts the amount of space available for the travelers. The width of the high-top motor home is more or less fixed, and some models feature an extended wheelbase to provide additional space.  Some people find that the width of this motor home makes it difficult to drive, requiring extra effort to control and properly maneuver the vehicle.  Therefore, most drivers prefer the medium sized high-top.

Choose the perfect RV model for you and enjoy all the comforts of home while you travel the open road.
